Horizontes (LP) - 2009

Webzine MetalPage (www.metalpage.de) - Enero 2010 - Horizontes

After the agreement for distribution in Central Europe with Karthago Records we receive the first "Horizontes" review from Germany. MetalPage.de, one of the most important webzines makes a review of Horizontes by Stefan Riermaier. In the text it is enphasized the clssic style of the band, with some flavors to the 80's Spanish metal scene with Ángeles del Infierno or Barón Rojo. Horizontes is described as one of the 10 best albums of 2009, comparing vocals to other great Spanish artists like Vicente Feijoo, from Zarpa. This is the English version of the review:

Since 1995 LEYENDA are active and in this time they made three albums reminding us on great 80s times when ANGELES DEL INFIERNO or BARON ROJO ruled the scene. To talk about such big names always causes expectations which need to be fullfilled. So as we all know spanish music scene produces a lot, some quality-stuff, but especially in the last time also many average and lower average products, we are happy that LEYENDA is one of the big exceptions from the rule. LEYENDAs albums are still not available everywhere but more and more exported because distributors and fans explore this high quality stuff. European melodic Metal-scene showed us a few bands at the peak of quality in 2009. LEYENDA is one of them and "Horizontes" for sure one of the best 10 albums released in that year. This is not only because of the fantastic vocalist Antonio Montemayor who can be named in one breath with the best spanish singers like Vicente from ZARPA, Angel from TIERRA SANTA or Lufti Salah Al-Kharbutli from PIEL DE SERPIENTE just to compare him with some of the really best. No its also because of the great songwriting which shows us melodic Metal on the top level produced with a very dynamic sound. "Quintaesencia" was a great Debut, maybe one of the best ever released in Spain since the 80s. "Medianoche" brought the band even one step further to fame and "Horizontes" for sure is a masterpiece. Melodic premier league Metal-Songs like "Mr. Oscuro", "Horizontes" or "Espiritu del Rock and Roll", only to pick out some great ones inbetween other great others, will bring you to Metal heaven and the inevitable order not to loose any more time: Check out for this album (even better for all three the band made until yet) and you will not regret!

Webzine HardRock80 (www.hardrock80.com) - May 2009 - Horizontes

The French website HardRock80, one of the most important of our neighbour country, published a review scoring the new Horizontes with 90/100. A very positive review and description about the composition, catching choruses, and the esence of the songs. Read it in Franch below:

...Autant le dire de suite, il vous faudra plusieurs écoutes pour entrer dans cet album, assez différent de A Medianoche et forcemment très différent de Quintaesencia, mais néanmoins dans la continuité et l'évolution du groupe. Les titres ne tranchent pas les uns par rapport aux autres contrairement aux deux précédents albums. Horizontes est d'une homogénéité exemplaire et se doit d'être compris et écouté dans son intégralité pour pouvoir "juger" de l'oeuvre...

A Medianoche (LP) - 2007

Webzine www.KaosGuards.com - May 2007 - A Medianoche

From France, and by the webzine Kaos Guards, comes this review of the new album. It clearly describes the best features of A Medianoche: tempos seducers, melodies and effectiveness. It seems that the new album is creating good attention on the French media, this is the second french review... both with great words.

We can read:

The exquisite French webzine, Hard Rock 80, publishes a new review (check below the Quintaesencia one) of a LEYENDA record. If Quintaesencia was one of the best album of 2005, A Medianoche repeats obtaining a 80/100. It favours songs like Sonríes a Medianoche, Mi Perdón or En Tu Ausencia and they compared LEYENDA to some Spanish bands like AVALANCH or SARATOGA.

We can read:

"Enfin, ce A Medianoche, est un grand disque, qui permet à LEYENDA de passer le cap pourtant parfois difficile du second album, qui permettra au groupe de poursuivre sereinement sa route. En ce qui me concerne je persiste à penser que LEYENDA est un des tous meilleurs groupe espagnols, qui a ma préférence sur d'autres pointures ibériques du genre, tels que AVALANCH et SARATOGA."

Quintaesencia (LP) - 2005

Metal Integral Fanzine - June 2005 - Quintaesencia

If the Leyenda demo appeared in the Metal Integral release of October 2004 (click here) now the band is again inside its pages. Now, LEYENDA re-appears with the full-length album Quintaesencia.

Foreign reviews have been very optimists with LEYENDA and now it is not an exception.
We are very proud that our language opens doors outside our country, spreading our message and our feeling.

Proof of that is reflected in the upper right logo that appears in the review, where we can see a guitar crossing a heart, symbol of the good feeling.

From the Frech lines we can extract:

"...Songs are diverse but homogeneous, there are some fast, other pure melodic metal, other metal 80's even a great ballad full of feeling (Espérame), although God knows that I am not a very ballad lover..."

Raskal says goodbye with an emotive:

"Messieurs de LEYENDA, Bravo!"

Everything is said.

Kerrang! Magazine (Spanish edition) - May 2005 - Quintaesencia

The Spanish edition of the Kerrang! Magazine reviews the Quintaesencia album in the May number. It describes the band as a hard rock and heavy metal one, with very good ballads and straight themes. Some kind words can be read, as:

...musically speaking, this work has no lacks, composition is taken with care and instruments are perfectly harmonized.

Leyenda (demo) - 2002

Metal Integral - (http://www.metal-integral.com/) - October 2004 - LEYENDA

From our neighbour country, France, comes this fantastic review. From the "Future Stars" section of the October number of the Metal-Integral fanzine (webzine in: www.metal-integral.com) comes an abstract of the LEYENDA's biography, a review, 2 photos, contact details, line-up,...

In the review we can read words like (in french): "Encore une Auto production (una démo?) hyper professionnelle par son aspect et son contenu... preuve de son talent!" (an autoproduction (demo?) hyper-professional in look and contents... proof of their talent).

Our french friend Raskal does an amazing work and we hope you to visit his webzine: www.metal-integral.com beacuse we feel that the heavy metal world needs people like him, with illusion, a lot of illusion.

Behind The Veil - on-line version (http://veilgr.gr.st/) - April 2004 - LEYENDA (Llegaré al Final)

From "Behind the Veil", a webzine dedicated to metal and rock music, comes this review to the Support The Underground Compilation where LEYENDA appeared in Summer 2003 with the song "Llegaré Al Final"

4.LEYENDA "Llegare Al Final": Leyenda come from Spain and as most Spanish metal bands they pay their homage to the masters of heavy metal, IRON MAIDEN. A very interesting and catchy song with a very good production. If you are not annoyed from the Spanish language (I am not!), check them out. they are in the vein of MAGO DE OZ and TIERRA SANTA. Taken from the "Leyenda" cd.

Heavy Rock Magazine - January 2004 - LEYENDA

In May 2003 appeared in this magazine the review of our ATLANTIS, a demo recorded 2 years ago. Now they publish the review of LEYENDA, 1 year after Kerrang! and 6 months after Rock Hard. This time, Paco Fernández is not very accurate with his comments saying that the "style is very close to first steps of Helloween or Judas Priest", nothing further... secondly he complains about the lyrics, which all his colleagues (Rock Hard and Kerrang!) mentioned them as very good. We thank his comments like "good sound, good compositions and good music".

Rock Hard Magazine (Spanish ed.)- August 2003 - LEYENDA

This review appeared on the Rock Hard magazine, Spanish edition (Spain and South America). Great words for LEYENDA can be read from this review, such as:

...it contains 3 mid-tempo heavy metal songs, full of passion. They are 3 nice and soft tracks, with legendary lyrics, very naturalist. Voice is not the typical sharp, but full of mid-tones, becoming agressive depending on the lyrics.

Strutter Magazine/Webzine (www.strutter.8m.com) - July 2003 - LEYENDA

LEYENDA ‘LEYENDA’ (INDEPENDENT)

We’re back in Spain again with yet another new sensational Melodic Rock/Metalband. This band is called LEYENDA and they come out of Madrid. Their CD contains only 3 tracks, but what we get to hear is of a very high level. The first song “Y Veras” starts calm, as a ballad, but develops into a great catchy uptempo melodic rocker, not too far away from TIERRA SANTA and AVALANCH. Next track “Leyenda” is a great semi melodic rockballad and finally “Llegare al final” is a very good uptempo Melodic Heavy Rock/Metal tune. Concluded, this is another interesting Spanish Melodic Hard/Heavy Rock/Metalband to check out. More info at: http://www.leyenda.es.mn and e-mail them at: leyenda_web@hotmail.com

Kerrang! (Spanish ed.) - January 2003 - LEYENDA

A great review this time in Kerrang (spanish edition again). They best score vocal tasks, production and execution:

...with a marbellous production for a demo and a impressive vocalist...
...themes are very well played and lyrics, in my humild opinion, hide a lot of message...

MetalThunder webzine (www.metalthunder.net) - December 2002 - LEYENDA

It was the second review they made to us (the first one was 2 or 3 years before, when the band was called Infernal) and the feeling was good. The faults were that the lyrics seemed to be quite likely to those about "dungeons and dragons"...
